My latest work for Sharp’s new product: Aquos. CHECK IT OUT, IT’S ON AIR NOW.

This is not the best, but I can say it is a quite decent work I did in New Media. Flash crafting is still raw & unsatisfying, yet I like the concept. Indosat Mentari is one of telco provider in Indonesia, and you know what Telco providers do in Southeast Asia: they stupidly fight each other until they’re running out of truth (about their ‘cheap’ rates) and strength. I don’t mind. Everybody has business. Mentari is a local sponsor for Euro 2008 as well, so that’s where we have the soccer game idea.

The famous AIDS Awareness Campaign of AIDES who won a Bronze on Cannes 2008.

Me personally don’t really understand the overexposure highlight from this ad. Well okay Erik Vervroegen of TBWA/Paris is the mindmaster, but this kind of idea is nothing innovative compare to other concepts that has already in the market about AIDS and condoms. It’s controversial and gets attention, but it’s reluctantly daring and at some parts still unacceptable. Like, in Girl version, why do they put a lot of man genitals aka penises, and in Boy version, they put boobs & lips with too little women genitals. Not very contextual, since genitals are the media of AIDS contagiousness. But salute for the bravery.

And okay that the ingenious James Jean did the illustration, but to be honest if you follow James’ work, you see a lot more characterized and more well-built strokes of his portfolio, other than these. James shared some mock-ups he did for the campaign here. Still, I love his original artwork. Like, this one example:

Nice, eh?
